Elizabeth Blackburn ~ Exhibit

Evidence indicates Elizabeth Blackburn, wife of Blackburn Akers, Sr., was a daughter of John Blackburn II.

John Blackburn II was a brother of Blackburn Akers, Sr.'s mother, Susannah. He was an uncle of Blackburn Akers, Sr. and his father-in-law as well.

Blackburn Akers, Sr. and his wife Elizabeth, were first cousins.

Marriages between cousins were not unusual and can be found in almost all family histories.  Most people did not travel very far from home during their lifetimes and potential marriage partners were limited in number.
