William Akers' 1780 Virginia Land Grant
From
Governor Thomas Jefferson, Esq.

This document grants William Akers 400 acres in what was then Henry County Virginia in exchange for 40 shillings sterling.

The image of the document is quite large and will take some time to load.  (But it's worth it to see Thomas Jefferson's signature!)

See the document here.
